The IS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank introduced in 1944, designed to counter German armor like the Tiger I and Panther. Armed with a 122mm D-25T gun, it had immense firepower capable of destroying fortified positions and tanks at long range. With thick frontal armor and improved mobility over the KV series, it played a key role in Soviet offensives, including the Battle of Berlin.
