The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy assault tank developed in 1940, based on the KV-1 chassis, but fitted with a massive 152mm M-10 howitzer in an oversized, boxy turret. Designed for bunker-busting and fortification attacks, its heavy armor made it resistant to most early German weapons. However, its large turret, slow speed, and mechanical issues made it vulnerable, especially in mobile warfare. It saw limited but impactful use during the early Eastern Front battles, including the defense of Leningrad and the Battle of Raseiniai.
