The Polish 10th Motorised Cavalry Brigade, also known as the "Black Brigade" due to their distinctive black leather jackets, was a pioneering motorised unit in Poland and a crucial part of the country's defence in the early days of World War II. Formed in 1937 and commanded by the highly respected Colonel (later General) Stanisław Maczek, the brigade was one of the few fully motorised and mechanised units in the Polish military. This unit was unique within the Polish Army, which traditionally relied heavily on infantry and cavalry, making it especially suited for rapid response and flexible warfare.
When Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, the 10th Motorised Cavalry Brigade quickly proved its value, engaging in fierce defensive actions in southern Poland. The brigade utilised its mobility and mechanised strength to conduct delaying actions against the advancing German forces. It fought bravely at battles such as Jordanów, where it successfully held back German troops, inflicting significant losses and slowing the German advance. The brigade's tactics involved mobile defence and the use of terrain to their advantage, compensating for their smaller numbers and lighter equipment relative to the well-equipped German forces.
This is a multi part model kit. We strongly recomend superglue to assemble.

Reviews
The detail and print quality of this set is exceptional and the care and attention taken with sprue removal makes any clean up minimal.Everything came carefully bubble wrapped, ensuring that incredibly detailed but delicate models such as the three howitzers remained intact. The cavalry figures are second to none and the fact that the three howitzers and crew are all different (loading, loaded and firing) adds dynamism to a superbly produced set. Perfectly to scale with Warlord figures.
