German - Panzer I Ausf A (With Two Turret Options)

The Panzer I Ausf. A was one of Germany’s earliest mass-produced tanks, developed during the 1930s as the German Army began rebuilding its armoured forces. Entering service in 1934, the Panzer I was intended primarily as a training vehicle but became an important part of Germany’s early armoured formations. Armed with two 7.92mm MG13 machine guns mounted in a rotating turret, it was lightly armoured and designed to engage infantry rather than enemy tanks. The Ausf. A saw combat during the Spanish Civil War, followed by the invasions of Poland in 1939 and France in 1940, where its limited firepower and protection became increasingly apparent. Although quickly outclassed by more modern designs, the Panzer I played an important role in developing Germany’s armoured tactics and remains one of the most recognisable tanks of the early Second World War.
