Resin Product Safety & Liability Disclaimer

Imperator Models products are primarily manufactured using UV-cured photopolymer resin. By purchasing, handling, assembling, modifying or using our resin products, you acknowledge the following information and agree to handle the products responsibly and in accordance with appropriate resin safety precautions.
 

Resin Sensitivity & Allergic Reactions
 

Although our resin products are supplied fully cured to the best of our ability, some individuals may experience skin irritation, sensitivity or an allergic reaction when handling photopolymer resin, including cured resin.

Imperator Models cannot predict an individual’s sensitivity or reaction to resin. Customers are responsible for determining whether resin products are suitable for them to handle and for taking appropriate precautions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Imperator Models accepts no liability for allergic reactions, skin irritation, sensitisation or other adverse reactions arising from the handling or misuse of our resin products, whether the resin is cured or uncured.
 

If irritation or an adverse reaction occurs, discontinue handling the product and seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.
 

Uncured Resin & Internal Resin Pockets
 

Resin 3D printing can, in some circumstances, result in small quantities of liquid or partially cured resin becoming trapped within hollow sections, cavities or internal pockets of a model.
 

This risk can be increased by the original design or construction of a digital model, including inadequate drainage holes, inaccessible cavities, hollow geometry or other design features outside the reasonable control of Imperator Models.

While we take reasonable care during printing, cleaning and curing, it is not always possible to identify resin trapped within completely enclosed or inaccessible internal areas.
 

Imperator Models therefore cannot guarantee that every internal cavity of a resin model is completely free from residual uncured resin.
 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Imperator Models accepts no liability for leakage, cracking, splitting, seepage or release of residual resin caused by hidden internal cavities, enclosed resin pockets, inadequate drainage within the original model design, subsequent modification of the product, inappropriate storage or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
 

If liquid resin is discovered leaking from a model, stop handling the affected area with bare skin immediately. Keep the model away from children and animals, wear suitable protective gloves, and treat the liquid as uncured photopolymer resin.

Cutting, Sanding, Drilling & Modification

Customers modifying resin products should take appropriate precautions.

Cutting, filing, drilling or sanding resin can create fine resin dust or small particles. Avoid inhaling resin dust and avoid contact with the eyes or mouth. Appropriate respiratory protection, eye protection and gloves should be used where necessary, and sanding should be carried out in a suitably ventilated area.

Models that have been drilled, hollowed, cut or otherwise modified may expose previously inaccessible internal cavities or residual resin.

Imperator Models accepts no responsibility for injury, exposure or damage resulting from improper cutting, sanding, drilling, heating, modification or other misuse of a product.

Handling & Breakages

Resin miniatures are detailed modelling products and may contain thin, sharp, pointed or fragile components. Broken components can also produce sharp edges.

Care should therefore be taken when removing supports, assembling, transporting or modifying models.

Imperator Models accepts no responsibility for injuries resulting from careless or inappropriate handling of sharp, broken or modified components, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Not a Toy

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Imperator Models products are collectable scale models intended for adult hobbyists and are not toys.

Products may contain small parts and sharp components and may present a choking hazard. They should be kept away from young children and animals.

Resin products must not be placed in the mouth, swallowed, used in connection with food or drink, or used for any purpose for which they were not designed.

Heat, Storage & Environmental Conditions

Resin models should be stored in reasonable indoor conditions and kept away from excessive heat, prolonged intense UV exposure and other conditions that may cause resin to soften, warp, become brittle or deteriorate.

Imperator Models cannot accept responsibility for deterioration, deformation, cracking or leakage caused by inappropriate storage, excessive heat, prolonged environmental exposure or customer modification.

Disposal

Resin products, resin fragments, sanding residue and particularly uncured liquid resin should be disposed of responsibly and in accordance with applicable local regulations.

Uncured resin should not be poured into sinks, drains, waterways or onto the ground.

Customer Responsibility

By purchasing and using an Imperator Models resin product, the customer accepts responsibility for:

• handling and using the product appropriately;
• keeping products away from children and animals where appropriate;
• taking suitable precautions when cutting, sanding, drilling or modifying resin;
• safely dealing with any uncured resin unexpectedly discovered within a model;
• following appropriate safety guidance when working with photopolymer resin; and
• using the product only for its intended purpose as a scale modelling or tabletop gaming product.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable UK law, including applicable statutory consumer rights.

Subject to those rights, Imperator Models shall not be responsible for injury, loss or damage arising from misuse, inappropriate handling, unauthorised modification, inappropriate storage, failure to follow reasonable safety precautions, or hazards resulting from defects or enclosed cavities inherent in third-party digital model designs that could not reasonably have been identified during normal manufacture and inspection.

If you receive a model that is leaking resin, appears insufficiently cured, has cracked due to an internal resin pocket, or otherwise appears unsafe, do not continue to handle or use it and contact Imperator Models so that we can investigate the issue.
